Moninne Griffith - Director

Moninne Griffith

Moninne Griffith is the Director with MarriagEquality and as such leads in the running of the organisation.

As part of her role, Moninne manages the legal strategy, mobilization and communications department for MarriagEquality.

Moninne has traveled across Ireland to engage directly with all sections of Ireland's diverse community to ensure the important messages of the organisation reach all parts of the Island.

Moninne liaises with similar organisations across the globe to ensure MarriagEquality is following codes of best practice and learns from their successes, and even failings.

Furthermore, Moninne has met countless trade unions, statutory organisations, NGOs, and political parties to build support for civil marriage for gay men and lesbians.

Previously, Moninne worked on the Equality Authority's report on Enabling Lesbian, Gay and Bisexual individuals to access their rights under the Equality law and was a volunteer for Women's Aid.

Before moving to the not-for-profit sector, Moninne was a practicing solicitor for ten years.

Moninne holds a BCL from UCD, was admitted to the role of solicitors in 1998 and since then completed an MA in Women's Studies in 2007.

Dawn Quinn - Administrator

Dawn Quinn

Dawn works very closely with the Director of MarriagEquality to administer the office, including general office management, dealing with queries, updating accounts, updating the website and any other administrative tasks that need to be carried out.

Dawn is central to the MarriagEquality TD Campaign (http://www.marriagequality.ie/action/) and manages the volunteers who work on the telephone lines.

Dawn's role also extends to raising awareness of MarriagEquality at certain key events and carrying out fundraising-related tasks.

Dawn held a similar role in a human rights organisation and preceding that worked in a number of different administrative positions in the private sector.

Dawn hold's a BA in Audio Visual Communications and an MA in Comparative Ethnic Conflict.
