Hanna's House Summer School on A Feminist Peace: how do we get there
27 August 2010 - 29 August 2010, 6:00 PM
Hanna's House will be holding its Summer School which will be on the subject of A Feminist Peace: how do we get there? over the weekend of 27, 28, 29, August in the Art College, at the University of Ulster's Belfast Campus on York Road.
The aim of the Summer School is to open up a dialogue between women north and south to discuss the legacy of the conflict and to consider issues relating to the creation of a just, non-violent society that gives equal value to women's human rights. We have an exciting and thought provoking programme of workshops and keynote speeches along with plenty of opportunities to socialize, make new friends and to enjoy feminist art and poetry. It is hoped that this event will lead to future projects that will support a feminist critical analysis of women's role in peace building across all spheres (home, community, nationally, internationally). If you are interested in getting involved please take a look at the detailed programme which is attached for your information.
The attendance fee for the summer school is only €10/£10 (waged) or €5/£5 (unwaged) as our policy is to make all our events as accessible and affordable as possible to participants. If you are interested in reserving a place please email hannashouse@nwci.ie listing your preferred workshops, as soon as possible, as numbers are limited.
