The lengths some people will go to achieve marriage equality... Part 2!
Well folks, we have another ultra dedicated marriage equality supporter - Una Burns! Una is undertaking the Galway Iron(wo)man 70.3 in September. Yes, we're thinking exactly the same thing, Respect...
Here's the lowdown on what's involved in this event:
1.9 km swim
90 km cycle
21 km run (i.e. a half-marathon)
Una, we're tired just reading about it! So what has inspired Una to bravely take on the might of the Atlantic Ocean in September? Well in Una's own words......
'
Training is going well but the Ironman 70.3 is no mean feat and I will certainly have my work cut out for me! I cycled home to Cavan at the weekend as part of my training. It was tough going and the thoughts of running a half marathon after a long cycle like that did not fill me with joy! Never mind battling my way out in the Atlantic for the guts of 2km to start with. Swimming is definitely my weakest discipline and will require a lot of work over the next six weeks if I am to survive at all! I just keep thinking...it's for a great cause!'
Thanks Una, we're so impressed that you will go to these lengths to support marriage equality. Una has been a long-time supporter of marriage equality and undertakes one big challenge a year to do some fundraising for worthy causes. We've included a picture of Una in action, so please support her in this massive challenge, all for a great cause!
