Wedding Favours
Why we made a donation to Marriage Equality
'We decided to make a donation to Marriage Equality as we are concerned about human rights and believe all couples in Ireland and worldwide should have the same access to marriage. We realised through association with close friends that not every couple has access to and the choice to marry. After our wedding, to thank our family and friends for joining in our celebrations and for their kind gestures of gifts; we decided to include a token of our appreciation. We therefore made a donation to Marriage Equality as we fully support their cause and hard work and also wanted to highlight this and raise awareness amongst our family and friends. We have since volunteered our services to make ''wedding favour'' cards for any other couples wishing to do the same. Please see the sample card attached.
Here's to Marriage Equality in Ireland and across the world!
With the public's support and backing this can become a reality as it will influence government decisions!'

What you can do to help....
Are you engaged and planning your wedding? Do you feel inspired by Stephane and Dharsh's story and feel you would like to help the marriage equality campaign? Do you have to travel all the way to Canada, Spain or South Africa to get married, even though you would love to get married in your own country, surrounded by all your family and friends? Why not make a donation to Marriage Equality in lieu of wedding favours? Alternatively you could make a donation to Marriage Equality and send a thank you to family and friends after your wedding, including a small Marriage Equality thank you card. Not only will you be helping to financially support the campaign, but you will also be raising awareness of the inequality and discrimination that same-sex couples experience.
Each card contains a small paragraph about Marriage Equality and what we do; this helps to raise awareness of the campaign with people who may not be familiar with our work. Believe it or not, many people in Ireland think that same-sex couples already have access to civil marriage, so this is an ideal opportunity to tell them that same-sex couples cannot get married unlike all our straight friends and family members, who have the choice.
The process is easy, simply have a look through the wedding favour card samples below, then contact Dawn in the office on: (01) 6599459 or dawn@marriagequality.ie, let us know your choice and how many people will be at your wedding. Then let us know the date of your wedding and where we should send the cards to. If you wish to change the message or personalise the cards, please let us know well in advance, and send us your message, so we can accommodate this.
Costs for the cards are as follows:
Up to 100 cards - €150 donation
Up to 150 cards - €200 donation
Up to 200 cards - €250 donation
Uo to 250 cards - €300 donation
Donations can be made to Marriage Equality by cheque, postal order or bank draft, of by credit card through our online system here.
