Please help us tell Rory's story

2 Jun 2011

Two weeks ago, we launched an appeal for our exciting new short film campaign. Already we've had several generous donations, and we are already 1/5 of the way to reaching our goal of €2937.

We could write a novel about the inequalities left unchanged by the Civil Partnership Act, but frankly, what we're talking about goes deeper than legalese and technicalities. We are talking about real people, real lives, and how an unequal system affects same sex couples, our families and our children.

They say a picture is worth 1000 words. Well, we'd like to show you our film in 3 photos.

Our film is about a boy called Rory, who has grown up with two mums...

Young Rory

...in his eyes both women are equally his parents, and his family is no different from anyone else's...

Rory's Family

...however, as he grows up he learns that in the eyes of the law the situation is sadly, shockingly different.

We need to spread the message that same sex couples, our families and our children are being discriminated against because of their sexuality or the sexuality of their parents. This discrimination can lead to fewer rights and protections for your family and those you care about.

Our film will help get that message out there.

We need you to support our short film project by donating what you can. It is only with your help that this film can be completed. It is only with your help that we will be able to share the message that same sex couples, our families and our children DESERVE equality.

Please donate today.

Thank you.
