UN Secretary General advocates for equality for all families on International Family Day’

NELFA WELCOMES INCLUSIVE WORDS ON FAMILIES BY UN SECRETARY GENERAL
The Network of European Families Associations (NELFA) welcomes the celebration of International Family Day on 15 May 2014.
NELFA is particularly happy with the inclusive words of United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon marking the day, where he notes that "Support for families is crucial to realizing their full potential. That means factoring their needs into development policies, considering their circumstances in addressing conflicts, and advocating for the equal treatment of all families, regardless of their structure".
Maria von Känel, NELFA's President said: "This is a day for all families. Ban Ki-moon's reference to all families, regardless of their structure, is very welcome".
