Social Inclusion Week 2010: 16-23 October 2010

16 October 2010 - 23 October 2010

During Social Inclusion Week, citizens of Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown will have the chance to experience a local celebration of the great work being undertaken in your county.

Social Inclusion Week 2009 saw over 60 different organisations and community groups highlighting the great work that they are doing to eliminate disadvantage and improve the quality of life for all residents of the county. This year, the theme is "Combating Poverty and Social Exclusion".

Social Inclusion Week is an opportunity for your group to showcase its excellent work. Some ways you could highlight your services or the good work that you are doing during the week could include: holding conversation classes in different languages; launching a plan; holding a photograph exhibition; having a coffee morning and invite members of your community to come along; organising a sports event; holding art classes; workshops on various issues (e.g. older people and ageing); cultural evening; food festival and so forth.
