Local Councils support Marriage Equality

Our work with local councils up and down the country continues, and we’re delighted to report that we now have 10 councils who have passed motions in favour of marriage equality!  These are:

Cork City | Dublin City | Waterford City
South Dublin County | Fingal County | Louth County | Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown County
Ardee Town | Castlebar Town | Mullingar Town

We want to thank all the councillors involved for proposing and supporting the motions, and to all of you who have spoken to your councillors about the issue!  Marriage equality is not just a national issue, it's a local one. It's about respecting and protecting loving couples and families who are part of our communities and treating them as equal. That is why putting the issue on the agenda at local level is so important.

Don’t see your local council on our list?  Want to find out how you can encourage your council to pass a marriage equality motion?  Get in touch with us – we’re happy to help!  01 873 4183 or info@marriagequality.ie
