Notification: Musicians for MarriagEquality Postponed

10 Sep 2009

Musicians for MarriagEquality, which was scheduled to take place in Vicar Street on Thursday, 1st October 2009, is being postponed. The decision was made due to the unavailability of some of the acts because of recording commitments. The amount of well known artists that want to get involved is amazing and proof of the huge support for MarriagEquality amongst the music industry and we will have absolutely no problem re-scheduling the gig for later on this year.

Buzz O'Neill, Musicians for MarriagEquality Promoter said, "Firstly, to the people who have purchased tickets, you will be contacted by Ticketmaster and a full refund will be given. This goes without saying."

Buzz continued, "We would like to stress that a new date will be announced shortly, and the full line up made available. Interest has been incredible and though it is disappointing that the gig is being rescheduled, this is to ensure that the right mix is there on the night and ticket holders get value for money and hear some amazing music. We hope that people understand why this decision was made and continue to support us."

Musicians for MarriagEquality is a collective of Irish musicians and people who work in the music industry who support equal marriage rights for same-sex couples. Notable acts have been signed up for the night and once the main act is secured a notification will be sent out immediately.
