Brian Barrington Brian Barrington

Brian Barrington is a practising barrister and expert on Equality and Human Rights. His work in Northern Ireland and in Southern Ireland has given him a particular advantage when analysing the vast differences in Human Rights for LGBT people depending where in Ireland we live.

He has long been involved with the MarriagEquality campaign, offering advice and legal opinion, and most recently provided us with an important advocacy tool, his detailed analysis of the proposed Civil Partnership Bill, http://www.marriagequality.ie/learn/civilpartnershipbill.html. As such, it befitting to name Brian as November's MarriagEquality Advocate of the Month.

Brian has proven himself as a keen commentator in the area, taking part in discussions to help inform people on the differences between civil marriage and civil partnership. He has travelled throughout Ireland in an effort to ensure that everyone concerned has vital information on the legal issues in the proposed Bill to hand and understand all the complicated elements of civil partnership.

Brian is always accommodating to MarriagEquality, providing excellent counsel, and sometimes just being a supportive friendly voice on the phone.

Our sincere and heart felt thanks go to Brian!
