Temple House | A beautiful Country House wedding venue set amidst an idyllic 1,000 acre private estate overlooking the lakeside castle of the Knights Templar.

A family home since 1665 makes the atmosphere here especially peaceful and special for weddings. The mansion boasts rooms of grand proportions and grandeur and yet there is a wonderful sense of intimacy too.

You may hold your civil ceremony in the Great Hall, or maybe celebrate with a blessing by the castle, or just make merry. We can welcome intimate gatherings or larger parties. The garden is also well suited for a marquee so the options are endless; the entire setting is quite beautiful.

Food is important here too, taking enormous pride in our reputation. We look for fresh local ingredients and go from there. The sheer size of the house is particularly well suited to a buffet and dance but also provides a beautiful backdrop for a sit-down. Buffet style guests do have tables at which to perch. Up to100 can be seated or up to 200 can enjoy a buffet in the house. Your guests can mingle, inside or outside; it is all very flexible and relaxed. A marquee is required to seat more than 100.

There are just 7 guest bedrooms so exclusivity is essential. A cottage sleeping 8 on the estate plus local hotels and B&Bs offer an easy approach to accommodation. We like the wedding party take the house for the day prior so that you will enjoy the experience all the more.
