Marriage Equality Staff
Moninne Griffith - Director
Moninne Griffith is the Director with Marriage Equality and leads in the running of the organisation.
As part of her role, Moninne manages the legal, mobilisation and communications work for Marriage Equality.
Moninne has travelled across Ireland to engage directly with all sections of Ireland's diverse community to ensure the important messages of the organisation are heard and understood. Moninne liaises with similar organisations across the globe to ensure Marriage Equality is following codes of best practice and learns from their successes, and even failings. Furthermore, Moninne has met countless trade unions, statutory organisations, NGOs, and political parties to build support for equality for same sex couples, families and our children.
Before moving to the not-for-profit sector, Moninne was a practicing solicitor for almost ten years. She also volunteered for Women's Aid and the Free Legal Advice Centres. Moninne holds a BCL from UCD, was admitted to the role of solicitors in 1998 and since then completed an MA in Women's Studies in 2007. She is currently a Board member of the National Women's Council of Ireland.
