True Colours - An Evening of Song & Celebration
On Saturday, June 9th, Ireland's top LGBT choirs came together to put on an unforgettable concert in aid of Marriage Equality. With the spectacular St Fin Barre's Cathedral in Cork as a venue, and the amazing vocal stylings of Glória and Choral ConFusion to inspire us all, we couldn't have asked for a better night!
Thanks to the generosity and talents of both choirs, and everyone who came along for the evening (almost 200 of you!), we were able to raise €2000 for our continuing campaign for equality for same-sex couples, our families and our children.

Some of the organisers explain why they got involved in True Colours for Marriage Equality:
Míchéal Ó Ríordáín:
''Marriage equality is at the heart of my personal fight for a more fair and equal Ireland. Marriage for me personally is about the recognition of the love and the commitment shared within a loving relationship but there are also the legal implications especially regarding the rights of a child of a lesbian or gay couple. Without marriage, Gay and Lesbian couples are classed as second class citizens within society.''
Laura Harmon:
''We're delighted to have these two brilliant choirs team up in Cork for this fantastic event. The campaign for equal access to civil marriage in Ireland hasn't been won yet, despite the recent Red C poll which found that 73% of the public think same-sex marriages should be allowed in our Constitution. We can't afford to become complacent and we need to keep supporting campaigning efforts in this area if we are to achieve equality for same-sex families.''
Richard Deane:
"We are really delighted to be able to support the campaign for civil marriage equality. It is great to be able to join forces with our Cork counterparts Choral ConFusion. We are looking forward to singing for people in Cork as we have many fans and followers in the county. We are particularly delighted that the concert is taking place in such a fantastic venue."
Couldn't get to Cork for True Colours? We've got a few videos from the night...
